Glendora, CA – Have you heard the news? Glendora is doing wonders by transforming the old Wonder Bread building into the Glendora Public Market, a vibrant food hall with much room for expansion and a driving factor in increasing property values in Glendora.

Originally, City Ventures was planning on demolishing the old Wonder Bread property to build condos. Shaw Investments, however, came to the rescue. They bought the building from City Ventures and spoke to the community. They listened to their opinions and wishes for creating a new hang out spot. Accordingly, Shaw Investments decided to take the local’s desires to heart and leverage the building’s character and history. Instead of turning the space solely into a condo community, they agreed to transform it into a food hub for folks to enjoy sought after food and drinks. Expect to see old and new favorites.

Additionally, not only is the Glendora Public Market set to feed the belly and energize the community, but it is planned to jump start the neighborhood and increase property values as well. Have you ever heard of the Starbucks Effect or the Trader Joes Effect? A study conducted by Zillow uncovered that homes near Starbucks and Trader Joe’s increase in value by about 30 percent faster than homes further away. Luckily for Glendora residents, the city includes both Starbucks and Trader Joe’s.

Starbucks and Trader Joe’s, however, are not the only value driver. Homes near other coffee chains, popular restaurants, stores, and correspondingly “hang out spots” such as food halls rise in value faster than other properties as well. Reason being, local access to such amenities and venues can increase residents’ quality of life. Therefore, having easy access to dining and entertainment, as what the Glendora Public Market will provide in a few months, does play a role in increasing our home values.

The brick-lined food hall is expected to include about a dozen different vendors, and all but two spots have been leased. Coming Fall 2018 to the Glendora Public Market are: waffle serving Sweet ComBforts, seafood focused Portside Fish Co., craft beer serving Smog City Brewing, caffeine enriched Steelhead Coffee, and much more!

Additionally, it’s important to note how community centered these folks are. Every step of the way, they have asked for the local’s input and invited the community to share their thoughts. From acting on the people’s wishes to create a hang-out spot in Glendora to asking for our opinion on branding preferences, the Glendora Public Market is truly for the public. We are excited to have them.

There are also words that the single-story, approximately 19,000 square feet building, sitting on 2.5 acres of land may eventually add a residential component. The goal is to create the Glendora Public Market the Happening Lifestyle Spot in the community.

The beautifully spaced, Glendora Public Market will be located at 905 E. Arrow Highway in Glendora, CA. Design features will include three long, open corridors, wrapping a central courtyard and patio, bow truss ceilings, exposed brick, and tall windows holding onto their authentic architect while looking out to the vivacious scenery.
