Luxury Pool Homes & The Value They Provide – Although it doesn’t stand true for every state, here in sunny California, where the weather is warm and we can essentially jump in for a splash all year round, a swimming pool not only offers benefits for your mind, body, and soul, but it can also boost the value of your home.

If you’re considering purchasing a luxury pool home, where you can step out into your backyard and step into a resort lifestyle, Southern California is the place to be. Cities such as La Verne, Glendora, San Dimas, Upland, Claremont, and the surrounding areas, have some of the most beautiful luxury pool homes in existence. Now, if you purchase one of these stunning homes, or decide to build a swimming pool in your backyard, Dave Ramsey describes it best in one of his articles on how a swimming can increase your home’s value. He states,

“a pool could boost your home’s value by as much as 7%” if:

1) You live in a neighborhood, where most of your neighbors also have pools.
2) Similarly, your swimming pool’s style is cohesive and fits in nicely with your home and neighborhood.
3) You live in an area with a warmer climate (i.e. Southern California, Florida, Arizona, or Hawaii), where you have the opportunity to enjoy the swimming pool any time of the year.
4) The swimming pool doesn’t take up your entire backyard, as homebuyers also like to have space for a garden, relaxation, and possibly a playset.
5) The swimming pool is well maintained.
6) And when you’re in the process of marketing and selling your home, you do so in a manner that can attract other homebuyers also desiring to live in a luxury pool home.

In short, all the elements required to consider a swimming pool an asset and not a liability to a home and its market value can be met by living here in warm and sunny Southern California. As you should have seen in my listings over the years, we have some of the most beautiful neighborhoods and stunning swimming pools that can make your mouth drop and you searching for the number to reserve a cabana. The beautiful fact is, purchasing a luxury pool home in our area can be quite beneficial. Additionally, if you decide to sell your home in the future (or now), working with a Realtor as myself, experienced in selling pool homes, will know how to properly market your home to attract just the right audience.
And if you decide to never sell your home, well – just know that a swimming pool can add to yours and your family’s enjoyment and health, and you can’t add a price to that.
