Summer Patio 2019 Trend

Summer Patio Trend – Summer is an opportune time to create an outdoor oasis soothing for your mind, body, and soul. Not only can you find some incredible deals on outdoor furniture during the summer months, but this is the time to spruce up your outdoor living space and design your own private oasis.

Accordingly, if you’ve been thinking of updating your patio this summer, this blog is for you. Design experts are indicating the rustic farmhouse and matchy matchy look are out, and minimalism with a Boho touch is in.

In fact, here are some of the hottest patio trends for Summer 2019:

1) Pull the indoor out – Textured upholstery, soft rugs, brass, pendant lights, and chandeliers were once considered only indoor elements, however, they are now popular outdoors too. Expand indoor elements out and don’t worry about whether your patio sets are matching. Rather, this is your chance to create an eclectic space with mixed design, layers, and textures. Plastic and metal furniture are a thing of the past. Make over your patio with sleeker teak, aluminum, textiles, rugs, and comfort. Simply stated, blend the outdoors with the indoors.

2) Minimalism isn’t only for open houses – The Scandinavian minimalist look is now popping up in outdoor design. Think aluminum and/or teak furniture combined with neutrals (blacks, whites, navy blues, and grays).

3) Splash neutral designs with bold colors – Although minimalistic neutral looks are shining this summer, designers are saying not to fear adding pops of color. This summer’s top vibrant colors include bright oranges, reds, yellows, and pinks. The easiest way to go about this is by incorporating colorful throw pillows into your look.

4) Achieve indoor cozy with an outdoor kitchen and fireplace – The kitchen and fireplace are always cozy gathering spots indoors. As such, create such similar comfort outdoors by adding an outdoor kitchen, eating area, as well as a fireplace. Not only will this set an ideal ambiance for friends and family to gather around this summer, but homes with such patios have shown to sell for significantly more. On an aside, if creating a full outdoor kitchen and/or fireplace are currently out of your budget, creating an outdoor bar and/or adding a fire pit instead will do the trick too.

5) Chic hammock sings boho – Lounging around on a hammock not only is a wonderful summer vibe, but it’s a great way to achieve a vacation vibe out of your own home.

6) Elevate your seating area – Popular this summer are sofa swings too. They’re relaxing, comfortable, and visually appealing.

7) Go a little greener and a little more brighter – Homes with outdoor lighting and spruced landscaping sell for more. Subsequently, spruce up your yards greenery by creating a “living wall.” Also referred to as green walls, living walls are walls partially or completely covered with greenery that includes soil, water, or substrate. Essentially, they’re vertical gardens and gorgeous focal points/backdrops. To add more lighting, simply incorporate hanging lights, a chandelier, and/or pendant lighting.

8) Bonus Pinterest Tip – Tablecloths are for more than tables, they’re great material/fabric to inexpensively revamp the cushions and pillows of your outdoor furniture as they’re water and stain proof.
