When working with a Living Trust Specialist, such as myself, selling a home in trust doesn’t have to be complicated. If you’re the one who set-up the trust and have appointed yourself as trustee, then you’re able to manage the real estate just as if the title were still in your name. On the other hand, if your successor trustee has stepped in, then he/she can manage. Regardless, most elements of selling a home will remain the same (negotiating a price, obtaining a home inspection, attending a closing, etc…). What can create confusion are the legal requirements and practical issues that can arise. For that, it’s best to work with an experienced Realtor in Living Trust Sales, in order to walk you through the process.
